By 2015, Twitch had more than 100 million viewers per month.[10] In 2017, Twitch remained the leading live streaming video service for video games in the US, and had an advantage over YouTube Gaming, which shut down its standalone app in May 2019.[11][12][13] As of February 2020[update], it had 3 million broadcasters monthly and 15 million daily active users, with 1.4 million average concurrent users.[14][15] As of May 2018[update], Twitch had over 27,000 partner channels.[14][16]

Following the Californian publisher's channel, MTG owned esl_csgo and dreamhackcs are channels produced by old school esports-focused organizations: ESL (company name: Turtle Entertainment) from Cologne, Germany and Dreamhack, based out of Stockholm in Sweden, which basically have consistantly been running the biggest gaming leagues and esports events in the West for the past 15 years and even more for ESL. And they're still around! And that means a lot: surviving as an esports-focused company between the late 1990's and 2010 required a lot of passion, or insanity, but also a very-focused and down-to-earth drive for success and sustainability. With MLG now ran by Activision, the latest of the esports dinosaurs to fall, ESL and Dreamhack can be looked at as survivor organizations which developed extremely rare skills and infrastructure that now allow them to run top quality esports events anywhere in the West, and even in Asia to some extent. All of their live viewership is coming from these events, and as the channel names show in the scoreboard, they had the biggest success showing Counter-Strile: Global Offensive in 2015.
Top CSGO events happen to generate the highest viewership peaks on Twitch, they're like little Super Bowl's. Last August, the esl_csgo channel recorded 23M Hours Watched, that's 32% of its yearly total, over the 4 days of their ESL One Cologne tournament, the biggest CSGO event to date. According to Gamoloco records it's also during this event, precisely on August 23rd 2015 at 21:11 CEST, that Twitch reached its highest viewership peak so far at 2 104 706 viewers. But it's not only ESL One that took Twitch so high: at that very same time, the riotgames channel was broadcasting the North American LCS Finals, one of the most hyped League of Legends matches of the whole year.
It's about performing in solo games, finishing them as fast as possible, which is called "speedrunning". gamesdonequick's events are week-long festivals dedicated to speedrunning during which the best speedrunners out there play their speed of light performances as Link, Mario or Kratos while commentating at the same time... with talent and a lot of heart for those I could listen to. All the while the speedrunning is going, gamesdonequick gathers donations from viewers. In 2015, they raised $2.8M in donations for the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders throug their broadcasts.
Why Do my viewers say I have 15 but twitch says i have 3 this is so unfair Please fix this I want to be able to stream but you are making impossible. so many people for so long telling you about this problem and it seems you guys just don't want to fix it also, my notifications not going through to my followers
I think the point a lot of commenters are missing is that it is annoying for new streamers to have to choose between streaming a lot for fun, or only streaming when they can optimize their views.Another possible solution would be if twitch averaged the viewers in the busiest 30 (or another number) hours of streaming to meet the qualifications.
Custom Events have been added to allow the streamer to customize their experience when viewers interact. These are based on bits, subscriptions, gift subs, raids and channel point redemptions. These are defined in the twitch_events.xml.
Phil had very good views on most of his videos from 2008 to around 2012, but his views overall have declined over the years because of the negativity and because of other YouTubers who do edited gaming videos who are bigger and better than him. In 2012, Phil posted a video regarding people who claim that he has "changed". Negativity grew strong around Phil in 2013, and the negativity still continues to this day. Phil wanted to make more changes in 2014, one of which included moving out of Connecticut, which he did in June of that year. Phil live-streamed on Twitch for about a year and a half, but after Twitch staff told Phil in November 2014 to reduce his streaming rate while playing Assassin's Creed: Unity, Phil quit streaming from the site and started streaming on YouTube. He created an account on Patreon in early 2015, which has since gained a mixed response from his viewers.
During a Mortal Kombat X stream on May 10, 2015, Phil was approached by a viewer regarding an incident that occurred two years ago involving an altercation between PandaLee and people on Twitch, now known as the "Kingdom Hearts incident". This instigated a very hostile reaction from Phil, leading him to insult this person, threaten him with physical violence, and encourage his fans to cyberbully him and spam his inbox. The resulting backlash was so immense that Phil had to make a public video apology in an attempt to clear the air surrounding the issue. But, while he apologized for his volatile reaction, he did not apologize for threatening said individual nor did he apologize for encouraging his fans to cyberbully him. He even claimed that this was a plot to have him react like this to slander him.
